Sounds like it's just COVID protocols.


Chip and I have heard from a few folks this morning. I just put this on the subscriber board:

I just got some clarification from a VT staffer who DM'd me:

"Just a little better insight - everyone in our travel party at ASU is considered Tier 1. People in the stands are Tier 3. At no point should these two groups mix. We were told before the selection show that teams could not watch other games for this very reason. It’s all because of covid protocols."

When I asked this person about ASU and Illinois State watching VT play vs. BYU (for example), he wrote, "I don't know if that happened. I'm not in Tempe."

My take? It's just COVID, not some sinister anti-VT plot.
